Multi-Millionaire Tucker Carlson In Ireland To Interview McGregor - Who Is Carlson?
16 April 2025
They all gathered in Conor McGregor’s Black Forge pub in Crumlin - from South Dublin County Councillor Glen Moore to crazed conspiracy theorist Jana Lunden - all there to suck up to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Dublin City Councillor Malachy Steenson had shown Carlson around Dublin earlier in the day before they all went back to McGregors pub.
They claim to have been informing Carlson about Ireland’s problems - but the solution to our real problems - from low wages to the housing crisis - involves challenging rich US multi-millionaires like Carlson.
The idea that these rich men do anything except maximise their own profits is ludicrous. They spout divisive ideas because they understand they help their class stay in power.
Carlson’s father was the US ambassador to the Sheychelles and former head of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in the USA. He grew up in the La Jolla area of San Diego - 10 to 20% of the residents of the area are estimated to be millionaires.
His father married Patricia Caroline Swanson, heiress to the Swanson Empire, and Tucker Carlson grew up with the likes of Peter Wilson - then Republican mayor of San Diego and future governor of California - at their dining room table.
His childhood was as establishment as they come. At age 13 he was enrolled at St. George’s school - an elite, private, boarding school. His father’s connections with Voice Of America meant he got work as a reporter.
Carlson used his wealthy connections and “lobbied everyone he knew” for a job at The Weekly Magazine - a journal of conservative US establishment thought.
He later worked for the New York magazine and Reader’s Digest, also writing for Esquire, Slate, The Weekly Standard, The New Republic, The New York Times Magazine, The Daily Beast, and The Wall Street Journal.
In 2000, Carlson co-hosted the short-lived show The Spin Room on CNN before getting a job hosting “Crossfire” - when he was sacked he went to PBS where he hosted “Tucker Carlson: Unfiltered” before he moved to MSNBC where he was cancelled because of low ratings.
He decided to get his name out there again by going on “Dancing with the Stars” - seriously! - before launching his own online show called “The Daily Caller”. He set this up with his college roomate and Dick Cheney aide Neil Patel.
Later it was revealed The Daily Caller was given $150,000 by the 2016 Trump campaign to hand over its list of callers.
In 2009 Carlson landed a job with Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News. Murdoch is one of the richest men on the face of the planet and used Fox News to poison the world and help keep men like him in power.
Soon he had his own show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” where he got over 3 million viewers but soon there were calls to sack him as his rotten views became public - he said Iraq wasn’t worth invading, calling the people the US murdered “semiliterate primitive monkeys.”
He’d also said that white men “created civilisation” and he listed the reasons every person killed by US cops deserved to be killed. In the 2019 “Bubba The Love Sponge tapes” Carlson defended convicted child rapist and cult leader Warren Jeffs, and made perverse, sexual remarks about journalists and entertainers.
He said that LGBTQ people are a “cancer on the country” and wants to overturn the right to choose for US women. Here we have a man that has never had to work for anything, sitting on his throne of wealth and privelege, diverting attention from his class and onto women, minorities and oppressed groups.
On Monday, April 24th 2023, Fox News sacked Carlson under instructions directly from Lachlan Murdoch. He took to Twitter to broadcast batshit crazy stuff, like claiming that the US had captured an alien spacecraft.
He launched his own podcast in May 2024 where he let guests spout Holocaust denial. He’s also given a platform to Vladimir Putin and alleged child rapist Andrew Tate.
Carlson complains about financial corporations but advocates for free market capitalism - yet the boom bust cycle of the market inevitably leads to centralisation and concentration of wealth.
Carlson once said of the British Empire that it had a “decency unmatched by any empire in human history” - tell that to the people of Belfast or the Bogside in Derry. The irony is that the gang that gathered in McGregors pub will march alongside Loyalist killers, wear the poppy and suck up to Carlson while calling themselves “patriots!”
Carlson is a member of the parasitic classes, those that live off of the backs of working class people. These leeches would do anything to keep us from realising we need to overthrow them all - whether they wear a Republican or a Democrat mask.
The Russian revolutonary Lenin once wrote:
“People always have been the foolish victims of deception and self-deception in politics, and they always will be until they have learnt to seek out the interests of some class or other behind all moral, religious, political and social phrases, declarations and promises.”
Class conscious workers in Ireland know the score. Tell others.
